How to Lubricate Your Treadmill Walking Deck

CAUTION: Unplug the power cord before beginning. Serious injury may occur if the power cord is connected to electrical outlet.
Please only used ICON Health & Fitness approved lubricant on this treadmill.
Please read these instructions completely before beginning.

Please complete this maintenance procedure every 3 – 6 months depending on use.

  1. Remove safety key and unplug the power cord.
  2. Before applying the new lubricant you will need to clean the Walking board by doing this you will remove buildup of dirt and debris. It would also be beneficial to vacuum around the vicinity of the treadmill as this will limit the dust around the machine.
  3. Cut the tip off the tube of belt lubricant. Lift one edge of the walking belt and apply 1/2 of the tube to the Walking board in a zigzag pattern. Apply the lubricant at the center of the board and work out towards one edge of the belt. Do not apply the lubricant all the way out to the edge of the belt. Leave 1 to 2 inches along the edge of the belt un-lubricated. (If you do get lubricant on the mat or side rails use Icon treadmill belt cleaner to remove the lubricant.)
  4. Lift the other edge of the walking belt and apply the lubricant in the same manner.
  5. Rub the entire top surface of the walking belt to transfer the lubricant from the walking deck to the walking belt.
  6. Plug in the treadmill power cord and insert safety key. Start treadmill and set the speed to 5km/h and walk on treadmill for several minutes. This will complete the transfer of the lubricant to the walking belt.

Please complete this maintenance procedure every 3 – 6 months depending on use.
