What is the difference between an exercise bike and a recumbent bike?

Recumbent bikes give the rider a more horizontal position. With the pedals out in front of the seat, the rider can work their glutes and legs harder than an upright bike. Recumbent bikes are generally more comfortable due to the reclined position and back support, providing great posture, and are often used by people overcoming an injury.
